The challenge

Like many trade and contracting businesses, EIT Services ran much of its day-to-day work through spreadsheets and PDFs. Job details, client information, and paperwork lived in separate files that had to be opened, cross-referenced, and updated by hand. That approach works when a business is small, but it gets fragile as the volume of jobs grows: figures drift out of date, the same information is entered more than once, and finding the history of a particular job means hunting through folders.

The aim was to digitise the paperwork and turn it into structured data the business could actually rely on.

What we built

We worked with EIT Services to replace their file-based process with custom tooling tailored to how their jobs and clients actually flow. Rather than forcing a generic product onto their workflow, we focused on the specific records they deal with every day and gave those records a proper, structured home.

The result moves job and client information out of standalone spreadsheets and PDFs and into a single system where it can be entered once, found quickly, and trusted.

The stack

The solution is built on familiar, dependable .NET foundations: an ASP.NET Core back end with a Blazor interface, structured data held in SQL, and a REST API keeping the layers cleanly separated. These choices favour maintainability and longevity, so the tooling remains supportable as the business changes.

Outcome

For EIT Services, the immediate change is that paperwork became data. Information that used to be scattered across spreadsheets and PDFs now lives in one consistent place, structured and searchable rather than loose and duplicated. Just as importantly, the work establishes a foundation the business can build on over time, adding capability as needs emerge instead of returning to manual files. It is a representative example of the kind of practical, grounded software work we take on for clients.
